Introduction to Corrections, covers the history and development of correctional work. Emphasis is placed on local, state and federal practices. It includes philosophy and practice of correctional process, adminstrative-organizational structure, penal codes and rehabilitative services. Web EnhancedThis course is designed as a web enhanced course and is the launching area for your semester long experience into distance learning. The techniques used within this class are meant as an aid to assist the student in their learning process to increase retention of information about the subject through the use of a "hands on" learning process. Material is designed for the student to be used in conjunction with the textbook reading and the class lecture. All my overhead notes form the basis of the course content. One method for use is to print out each chapter's notes before reading the textbook and to assist in understanding the essential elements of each chapter. Another method is to bring the printed out notes to class for use with the in-class lecture, while another may be a combination of both. Which ever way you decide to use the notes they are there as a tool! READ THIS CAREFULLY!Each student is required to visit the virtual classroom a minimum number of times for the semester. All quizzes, essays and discussions will be delivered through the virtual classroom, which will be used as the study guide for the midterm and final exam. The student may visit the quiz material as many times as necessary but only after the quiz has been submitted for a grade. After each chapter a quiz will be available for the student based upon the date the chapter is being covered in class. The class assignment schedule will prompt you to the chapters covered and the approximate date of delivery. All chapters assigned will be covered, and the student is responsible to read all assigned chapters. | ||||||||
