This is a lab course in natural sciences emphasizing study of human organisms with special consideration of new discoveries in biology and medicine. It also looks at their implications and impact on society. Topics covered include the nature of cancer, human heredity and reproduction, the basis of human behavior, organ transplantation, artificial organs, nutrition and exercise, human immune function and biological hazards in the environment. Labs are done from home with a minimal of materials. There are no on campus visits. Small group and class wide discussions are done asynchronously. Exams are done online.
